The World Record Holder Returns

19. 02. 2025 | 10:55

In the corona season in September 2020, he arrived late at night as the last foreign guest in Ostrava. Jakob Ingebrigtsen won the 1500 meters with a time of 3:33.92 on the second day. Since then, he has collected an impressive number of titles and records. Two Olympic gold medals, two World Championship golds, nine European Championship golds including cross-country and five indoor European Championship golds.

He holds world records in the 2000 meters, 3000 meters, and two miles; European records in the 1500 meters and mile; and indoor world records in both the 1500 meters and mile. Today, he is the most sought-after middle-distance runner in world athletics. And all this at just 24 years old with many seasons ahead of him. His participation at Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 will be an exceptional event. Later on, it will be decided which discipline he should compete in—whatever it is, it's certain that he will have record ambitions for it.
