ALLYSON FELIX
On the last year of the competitions
Yes, this is it. But it has been so much fun for me and it changed my life. So just a couple of last races, I am soaking it up and I am kind of enjoying my experience.
On her shape and running 200m in Ostrava
I am expecting getting a bit sharper and getting another race on my belt. I will continue with my season. I will compete at the US Trials. The world championship is not my ultimate goal, I am possibly looking towards some relays and like that.
On her memories connected to wins
I think it is everything. Just being on the circuit, going to the different championships, had so many ups and downs. I pretty much had grown up with this sport so I not imagine my life without this. So I am just connected to it.
On what she received from this sport
I got a lot of lessons. So many lifelong friends... I feel like this sport gave me so much that I have to appreciate.
On if there is something she did not fulfil
There are always a few things. Things I wish they could have gone better or differently. But when I look back, I have no regrets. Because everything happens for a reason, I am grateful more than anything for every single experience.
On who takes care of the child at the moment
This time, it is my parents. I cannot even imagine having three (like Nia Ali). A lot more work.
On the next of Allyson Felix off the track
I am really excited for the next chapter. Being more present as a mum at home and doing some more work advocating for the women in sports. Also running my company with my brother. Now, no plans to coach but more on the business site of the things. Running a business.
On the having the World Championships on the home soil in the USA
I am so excited. It has been such a long time. Eugene is going to be a great host. It is exciting to welcome the world there. So after all those years, it is really special.
On her approach to the competitions on the last circuit
It is a completely different approach, which is a really interesting thing for me. A bit challenging to try to look at it differently but I am still a competition at heart and trying to do the best I can. Still pushing myself as well.
On how she chose the meetings for the tour
I was looking at places that I enjoyed coming and opportunity to get sharp with my races, which makes sense for me and that is how I did it.
